The Irpin or Irpen is a river in Ukraine, a right tributary of the Dnieper River. It is 162 kilometres (101 mi) long, and has a drainage basin of 3,340 square kilometres (1,290 sq mi). Irpin city is one of the urban settlements beside the river.

This was done at the start of the war in Ukraine. It was the Ukrainian army. They blew up a dam which turned the whole of this Irpan River basin into a massive expanse of bogs and marshes. It turned the area into what one defense consultant called an impassable turd.

When Germany attacked and went towards Russia. This exact same thing happened where they tried to stop the Germans by blowing up these two particular, one on the Dnipra and one on the Irpan River. Can I ask, why are bogs not defeatable to most modern armies? Tanks can't get through them.
