Scientists at Lund University took some dung beetles to a planetarium and showed them the Milky Way and saw which way they went. Then they covered up the Milky Way and saw they went in different wild directions. When the planetarium turned into Madame Tussauds, presumably they were completely lost.

Other times Lund University came up

  1. There was a moment where it sort of became a meme because the Facebook page that was the official Lund University Facebook page put out a statement saying, Could everyone stop tagging their friends who were nothing to do with this university because everyone was just doing it so they could go, look, it's penis university.

  2. Oh, they're the main ones. If you know the Ig Nobel prizes, it's the science that makes you laugh, that makes you think. It was at this university, Lund University, that scientists worked out that chimpanzees and humans in zoos imitate each other to an equal extent. That horse flies prefer horses with dark coats. So if you've got a white horse, they don't really get those flies.

  3. The lecturer would turn up every day and go, still no one coming, hey, weird. Yes, this is so mad. It seems to be like, it's at Lund University, which has a plaque that claims to mark the meridian of the academic quarter. It says, you know, we took this meridian from Greenwich,.

  4. Here we go. Can I get to the email? This is from Eric. He says the discovery that humans have 46 chromosomes was made at Lund University. Before that for over three decades we thought humans had 48 chromosomes and I guess no one bothered to double check. They add in brackets it's a bit more complicated than no one bothered to double check. But that sounds funnier.
