About Rome
Rome is the capital city and most populated comune (municipality) of Italy. It is also the administrative centre of the Lazio region and of the Metropolitan City of Rome. A special comune named Roma Capitale with a population of 2.7 million in an area of 1,287.36 km2 (497.1 mi2), Rome is the third most populous city in the European Union by population within city limits. The Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, with a population of 4.2 million, is the most populous metropolitan city in Italy. Its metropolitan area is the third-most populous within Italy. Rome is located in the central-western portion of the Italian Peninsula, within Lazio (Latium), along the shores of the Tiber Valley. Vatican City is an independent country inside the city boundaries of Rome, the only existing example of a country within a city. Rome is often referred to as the "City of Seven Hills" due to its geography, and also as the "Eternal City". Rome is generally considered to be one of the cradles of Western civilization and Western Christian culture, and the centre of the Catholic Church.

There is an absolutely amazing building in Cote d'Ivoire, which is it's a basilica at, I'm going to say this wrong, Yamoussoukro. It's the tallest basilica in the world, as in it's taller than St. Peter's in Rome. They built it slightly smaller than St. Peter's in Rome at the request of the Pope. Then they put a massive gold cross on it to make it taller at the top.

There's that weird folk etymology that it was people who have beards. Barber means beer, but I don't think that is true. I wrote just on beards. There was something like I read that was about seven sacks of Rome over different periods of time. In 1527, there was one. That's post when you're saying Rome, the ancient Rome. It's still counted as Rome, I suppose.

This is this name of Rome was to be used in sacred rituals. Maybe according to some, maybe never. OK, well, sorry, Andy, I don't like to clap down. It's never used, what are we all doing here? But there was a place called the Cave of Rome. Did you hear of this? No. No. This is great. This is buried deep under the ruins of the palace of the emperor Augustus.
