There was an article in 2021 in the Telegraph about deck chairs in Scarborough. This was a 58-year-old woman called Dawn Avison who runs the last remaining deck chair concession in Scarborough. She's got what they described as a deep mahogany tan, and apparently locally it's known as Scarborough Rust, which is if you work on the beach.
