St. Kilda

About St. Kilda
St Kilda is a remote archipelago situated 35 nautical miles west-northwest of North Uist in the North Atlantic Ocean. It contains the westernmost islands of the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. The largest island is Hirta, whose sea cliffs are the highest in the United Kingdom; three other islands were also used for grazing and seabird hunting. The islands are administratively a part of the Comhairle nan Eilean Siar local authority area.

The first proper account of the islanders was written in 1698 called A Late Voyage to St. Kilda, which I still don't know what he meant by late. I don't know if he meant to go 10 years earlier. He died about five years earlier.

Other times St. Kilda came up
Oh, yeah. It was thought by a lot of people. Really? Or St. Hilda. Stars were a common, apparent cause of fossils, weren't they? People often thought that they'd been caused by falling stars or the action of stars on the ground had created fossils. I think that was something that Leonardo da Vinci tried to tell people definitely couldn't be true it didn't make any sense oh and another thing was um it was controversial thing they were living things that lived more than let's say 6,000 years ago because at the time everyone was kind of creationist and so they couldn't believe that anything existed before that the universe was supposed to be created in 4,004 BC yes exactly but for some people fossils when they were discovered confirmed creationism because they were evidence of noah's flood having swept lots of sea creatures up onto the mountains And so they were saying, look, this is his, the flood did this.

Yeah. You used to get enormous flocks of puffins, didn't you? In the UK as well. The island of St. Kilda, this was two people called Herter and Done in 1897. They said that the puffins were in such numbers that clouds of birds, sweet pastures, and make a sound like a whirlwind. Cool. Another one said that it was, it made a great cloud that perceptively interfered with the light of day.
