About Stonehenge

Stonehenge is a prehistoric megalithic structure on Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, England, two miles (3 km) west of Amesbury. It consists of an outer ring of vertical sarsen standing stones, each around 13 feet (4.0 m) high, seven feet (2.1 m) wide, and weighing around 25 tons, topped by connecting horizontal lintel stones which are held in place with mortise and tenon joints—a feature unique among contemporary monuments. Inside is a ring of smaller bluestones. Inside, these are free-standing trilithons, two bulkier vertical sarsens joined by a single lintel. The whole monument, now in ruins, is aligned towards the sunrise on the summer solstice and sunset on the winter solstice. The stones are set within earthworks in the middle of the densest complex of Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments in England, including several hundred tumuli.

You're like, you don't want to live in Stonehenge, would you? The pyramids were the tallest building on our planet until something in America, right? Until the Eiffel Tower, I think. No, no, no. It was the Lincoln Centre. Lincoln Cathedral. Lincoln Cathedral. In Lincoln, UK.

  2. OK, I have one quick thing. There's a company called Jacomo who make clothes, especially for men. They did a catalogue called The Architecture of Men to identify modern kind of builds. They said that Simon Cowell and Ricky Gervais are built like Stonehenge. What? Apparently they have short, stocky build, broad shoulders and chunky legs, according to Jacomo. Russell Crowe and Jay-Z look like the Tine Bridge, according to these guys.

  3. Yes, we were, everything took, you know, it took thousands of years to reach farming for them at least. You know, it's just like a European thing, isn't it? We don't really like to be there. Recently, they think almost certainly that Stonehenge was built by the Welsh. Did you know this? Really? They knew the stones came from Preseli Hills in Wales, but they assumed that the English went there, collected the stones and brought them back in.
