Whitechapel is an area in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, London, England. It is in East London and part of the East End. It is the location of Tower Hamlets Town Hall and the borough town centre. It is located approximately 3.4 miles (5.5 km) east of Charing Cross.

It's a sad thing that this industry is no longer as big as it was. The Whitechapel bell foundry, which, as you say, has been going since the 1500s, is completely shut down now — it looks like a hotel is going to be moved in in its place, a sort of hipster kind of hotel.

It was started by a tour guy called Simon Entwistle, who just sort of noticed that bits of Clitheroe, actually, they haven't been developed very much since the 19th century, so they look a lot more like what Jack the Ripper would have experienced than London.
